Fewer people are visiting Las Vegas than in past years, but most of those who come are satisfied with their stays and 80 percent are likely to return.
Kevin Bagger, director of research for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, on Tuesday analyzed the 2025 Las Vegas Visitor Profile study for the authority’s board of directors.
There were few surprises in the report, which is based on surveys of Las Vegas visitors to gauge their satisfaction with their stays in the city. Casino resorts usually use the reported data to make changes in the guest experience and find ways to improve the visitor experience.
One key trend that has changed since 2024 is that visitors with a household income exceeding $100,000 a year are arriving in greater numbers than those with household income below $100,000 a year, Bagger said.
“The percentage of our visitors being higher income reflects the consumer sentiment numbers that we have talked about over the past year,” LVCVA President and CEO Steve Hill said after the presentation.
“Folks who are living on a budget are more concerned about their financial situation than they have been at almost any time over the past 80 years,” he said. “And that is reflected in the decisions that they’re making, understandably. So they are, we’re a discretionary destination. And when those budget-conscious visitors are having to make a decision, they’re choosing to understandably pay for the necessities in their lives rather than the things that are more discretionary.”
