The Las Vegas Raiders traded a veteran offensive lineman ahead of Sunday’s 3 p.m. roster cutdown deadline.
Jordan Meredith, who has played in 45 games and started 20 over the last four seasons, was dealt to the New York Jets in a pick swap, according to reports.
The Raiders sent a 2029 seventh-round pick to the Jets along with Meredith and acquired a 2027 sixth-round selection.
Meredith has played center and guard for the Raiders since joining the organization in 2022. His versatility had him in the mix for a roster spot, but the team elected to move on from him in the final year of his contract.
Meredith spent the 2021 training camp with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted rookie out of Western Kentucky only to be released prior to the start of the season. He signed with the Raiders in February 2022 and made his NFL debut that season.
He was tendered as a restricted free agent in March.
Meredith will once again block for Geno Smith on the Jets after they played together last year with the Raiders.
The Raiders must be down to 53 players on the roster by 3 p.m. Sunday.
