Dodgers fans in Las Vegas have another way to watch their team as the club enters the final stretch of the regular season.
Spectrum SportsNet LA, the television home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is now available to Spectrum customers in Las Vegas and other former Cox markets throughout the Dodgers’ broadcast territory.
Cox was the predominant TV provider in the Las Vegas market.
Las Vegas is unique because it is the home TV territory for six MLB teams — the Dodgers, Los Angeles Angels, San Diego Padres, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants and the Athletics. That will change in 2028, when the Athletics move to Las Vegas and have exclusive rights to the market.
Here are five things to know about SportsNet LA in Las Vegas.
1. Why is SportsNet LA now available in Las Vegas?
The network’s arrival in Las Vegas is tied to the Spectrum’s purchase of Cox Communications.
Charter Communications, which operates Spectrum, completed its previously announced transaction with Cox Communications, bringing former Cox markets under the Spectrum umbrella.
That means Las Vegas customers who previously received their television service through Cox are now part of Spectrum’s expanded former Cox market, with SportsNet LA available to customers with the appropriate television package.
The network also is now available to Spectrum customers in other former Cox markets throughout the Dodgers’ broadcast territory.
Previously, the Dodgers were the only franchise of the market’s six home MLB teams that Las Vegas fans could not watch consistently. That was because of a carriage dispute between the Dodgers and Cox.
2. What Spectrum package do you need?
Not every Spectrum television subscriber automatically gets SportsNet LA.
In Las Vegas, the network is available to subscribers of Contour TV Preferred and Contour TV Ultimate.
Former Cox customers who have transitioned to Spectrum can access SportsNet LA if they have one of those packages.
3. What channel is SportsNet LA in Las Vegas?
For Spectrum customers in Las Vegas, SportsNet LA can be found on Channel 50.
That gives Dodgers fans a dedicated channel for the team’s live games, as well as pregame and postgame coverage.
The channel number is specific to the Las Vegas market. SportsNet LA is available on different channel numbers in other former Cox markets, including Orange County, Palos Verdes and Santa Barbara.
This change doesn’t change DirecTV’s Dodgers carriage (Channel 690).
4. What can you watch besides Dodgers games?
SportsNet LA provides more than live game coverage.
The network’s programming includes pregame and postgame shows, player interviews, highlights, analysis and behind-the-scenes access to the Dodgers.
LeadOff LA begins one hour before most games, followed by Access SportsNet: Dodgers 30 minutes before first pitch. The postgame edition of Access SportsNet: Dodgers features game highlights, clubhouse interviews and analysis.
5. Why does the timing matter for Dodgers fans?
SportsNet LA’s arrival in Las Vegas comes with the Dodgers entering the final stretch of the regular season.
Los Angeles has 31 regular-season games remaining before the MLB postseason begins Sept. 29 and currently sits in first place in the National League West, No. 2 in the overall league standings.
The Dodgers are also attempting to become the first team since the New York Yankees from 1998-2000 to win three consecutive World Series championships.
