Station Casinos has partnered with Adostics to introduce TrustedTap, an innovative digital funding solution that allows guests to instantly fund their favorite slot machines using Apple Pay via a debit card directly at the game.
The product is currently under a field trial, pending approval by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, at Durango casino bars, all Seventy Six taverns and Wildfire Anthem.
“Feedback in the trial has centered on two themes: convenience and control,” Adostics Chief Marketing Officer Brad Egnor told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in an email. “Players tell us they value not having to carry cash on the casino floor, which many see as both a convenience and a security benefit. And notably, players have actively engaged with the built-in responsible gaming tools. Setting their own wager and 24-hour spending limits. This tells us these controls are being used as intended.”
Powered by secure Apple Pay technology and biometric authentication, TrustedTap delivers a simple “Tap, Fund, Play” experience. Available through NFC tap or QR code scan, it enables players to transfer funds directly from a debit card stored in their Apple Wallet.
“Security was central to the design: transactions use Apple Pay’s tokenization, meaning card numbers are never shared with or stored by the machine or the casino, and every transaction requires the player’s biometric authentication on their own device,” Egnor said. “The system was built to work within the safeguards and infrastructure that already govern casino gaming. It integrates with existing ticket in, ticket out systems.
“A player funds a session through the TrustedTap placard that is verified and secured, plays their favorite game, and prints a ticket for any remaining balance or winnings, which can be redeemed through the casino’s standard processes.
Sam’s Town sportsbook
Boyd Gaming has unveiled a newly renovated sportsbook at Sam’s Town, located just steps from the Sports Deli. The updated, upgraded space features state of the art technology, with massive wall-to-wall LED video screens, comfortable expanded seating and self-service betting kiosks.
Horse players have seats equipped with personal monitors, individual lighting and electrical outlets.
Mo’ Mummy expands
Aristocrat Gaming’s Mo’ Mummy franchise has expanded and new versions of the popular slot machine are now offered in five Southern Nevada properties.
The all-new Fo’ Mo’ Mummy family of games has launched titles Mr. Mummy and Ms. Mummy across North America.
Both games were designed for and appear exclusively on the highly advanced The Baron Upright cabinet. Mr. Mummy and Ms. Mummy both contain the player-favorite “Cash Collect” feature that adds a new quadruple metamorphic that brings four times the features that players can trigger, whether one at a time or all together.
The new games can be played at Circa, Circus Circus, Durango, El Cortez and the Rampart Casino.
Typhoon near Macao
The world’s largest gaming market suffered another setback over the weekend.
After two months of below-average attendance at Macao’s casinos, attributed to travelers attending World Cup games in North America instead of making a casino trip, the Chinese gaming enclave was hit with a typhoon.
Typhoon Noul reached the coast of China’s Guangdong province on Saturday, prompting Hong Kong to raise its No. 8 storm signal that evening. The storm brought only a No. 3 signal to Macao, as the city remained on the extreme western edge of the storm’s path.
A No. 8 storm signal results in the suspension of public transport services, including ferries and buses, and the closure of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
On Sunday, the storm passed within 50 miles of Hong Kong, which is Macao’s second-largest source market of visitors after the Chinese mainland.
