Flavor Flav’s SHE Weekend parade will shut down a portion of Las Vegas Boulevard Thursday night to celebrate over 100 Winter Olympians and Paralympians.
Starting at 8 p.m., the parade will travel down a short portion of the Strip southbound from just north of Park MGM, to Bruno Mars Way, leading the athlete procession to Toshiba Plaza outside of T-Mobile Arena, where fans will be located to celebrate the women and a free concert headlined by Flavor Flav’s rap group, Public Enemy.
Las Vegas Boulevard southbound from just north of Las Vegas Boulevard to Bruno Mars Way will shut to vehicle traffic between 7:30 and 9:15 p.m., according to Clark County. Bruno Mars Way, between the Strip and Frank Sinatra Drive, will also be closed to vehicle traffic during that time.
The parade is scheduled to end at 9 p.m., with the concert planned to occur between 8:30 and 10 p.m., according to the county.
The female Olympians will also receive keys to the Strip from the county.
Clark County estimates that about 6,000 fans will be in attendance for the Thursday night event.
The Raiders, Golden Knights and the Aces are expected to take part in the parade, according to the county.
The parade and subsequent weekend events started as a social media post by the rapper, which then blossomed into a full-blown multiday celebration of over 100 women’s Winter Olympic athletes, including the gold medal-winning hockey and bobsled teams.
Other performers slated to appear Thursday night include female musicians Sheila E., Grace Bowers and Blu DeTiger.
