Michael Mizrachi is preparing to defend his World Series of Poker Main Event title starting this week.
Before that, the professional poker player known as “The Grinder” added another piece of jewelry to his collection.
Mizrachi made quick work of his opponents Monday night and won the $10,000 buy-in Pot-limit Omaha Championship at Paris Las Vegas. He defeated Zarvan Tumboli in heads-up play and claimed the $1.35 million first prize, his ninth career bracelet, which are awarded for WSOP victories.
Mizrachi is now tied for sixth place on the all-time bracelet list with Great Britain’s Benny Glaser and Poker Hall of Fame member Johnny Moss.
“I just push myself harder and harder, and this year I got my health back. I feel much better,” Mizrachi said on the WSOP stream following his victory. “Lost 40 pounds since last Main Event, training twice a day, so I feel good.
“Physically, I feel great. Poker-wise I feel amazing. I never felt any better than this at 45.”
When action resumed Monday with three players remaining, Mizrachi had 40.225 million of the 50.175 million chips in play and didn’t even bother to stack most of them.
After he knocked out Michael Hahn in third place ($627,832), Mizrachi had more than a 4-to-1 chip advantage. Tumboli won a massive pot early in heads-up play when both players had a full house, cutting into Mizrachi’s lead.
But Mizrachi remained patient and wore down his opponent. On the final hand, Mizrachi came from behind to make the winning straight and crack Tumboli’s aces.
Tumboli, a professional poker player from India, took home $900,088 for second place.
Mizrachi’s victory came exactly one year to the day after he won the $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship in 2025. The Poker Hall of Fame member now has more than $30.6 million in career live tournament earnings, according to the Hendon Mob Poker Database.
