A 17-year-old boy arrested in the homicide of a homeless woman in April was seen wearing similar clothing to that of the suspect months prior, according to his arrest report.

The Metropolitan Police Department arrested Dennis Geiggar on Wednesday in connection with the death of Marceline Biasini, 61. Geiggar faces one felony count of open murder, according to online court records.

Police said officers found Biasini dead on a sidewalk in the 3500 block of East Bonanza Road, near North Pecos Road, just after 8 a.m. on April 21. The Clark County coroner’s office said Biasini died of blunt head trauma and ruled her death a homicide.

Biasini regularly slept in the area where she was found, according to Geiggar’s arrest report.

At the scene, police found bloody footwear impressions leading away from the scene and on a jacket that Biasini’s head was resting on, according to the report.

Surveillance video from a nearby 7-Eleven convenience store showed someone approach Biasini just after 2:35 a.m. on April 21 and leave about a minute later, police said.

“The precise location of the crime scene was obstructed from surveillance cameras, but video surveillance with audio … captured the suspect approaching Marceline’s location and, seconds later, a scream is heard followed by approximately 61 loud thuds,” the report said.

Police said they shared a still shot from surveillance video with the Clark County School District Police Department on April 25 because the suspect was possibly a juvenile.

Two days later, a school district police officer identified the suspect as Geiggar, and said he was apprehended for trespassing at Basic High School in January, the report said.

Geiggar had attended Valley High School but was expelled in January after he was cited for arson, according to the report. He had attended school online through Nevada Learning Academy since then, the report said.

Body-worn camera footage from the arson at Valley High School showed Geiggar wearing Vans shoes and a red hooded sweatshirt similar to the clothing worn by the suspect in Biasini’s death, according to the report. Police added that Geiggar matched the general physical description of the suspect.

Using surveillance video from the area, the report said, police also found that the suspect was first observed at a location about 500 feet from Geiggar’s home.

In an interview with detectives, Geiggar said he was playing video games with his older brother the night of Biasini’s death and denied being in the area of the crime scene, according to the report.

Geiggar said he had gone with his brother to a 7-Eleven on North Eastern and Stewart Avenues around 1 to 2 a.m. on April 21, but video from the store did not show him there, the report said.

Geiggar added that he had been attending anger management classes and had “numerous incidents where his anger had resulted in his punching walls and trash cans,” according to the report.

Asked about the red sweatshirt he was seen wearing in January, Geiggar told police he had given it to his now ex-girlfriend, the report said. The girl’s mother showed police the sweatshirt and said she had had it since January, according to the report.

Geiggar’s Vans shoes had two areas that tested presumptive positive for blood, but the DNA comparison between the blood on his shoe and Biasini had not yet been completed, the report said.

During an initial appearance on Tuesday, Geiggar’s special public defender, Charles Cano, said he had not yet received discovery in the case but expected prosecutors to provide “a lot of video” from the slaying.

Geiggar is due in court again on June 15.
