Las Vegas police said Friday they arrested one man and want to talk to someone who was seen on video being struck by a pickup truck during an illegal street takeover last month.
In a news release, the Metropolitan Police Department said one person was struck by a blue Ford pickup truck during a street takeover at Mount Hood Street and Ann Road in northeast Las Vegas at about 3 a.m. on April 25.
Detectives want to speak with the person who was hit, according to the release.
On Thursday, according to Metro, 22-year-old Cesar Sosa was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of being a driver disobeying a peace officer, and other charges.
Police believe Sosa was the driver of the pickup truck at the street takeover on April 25. After police responded to the takeover that morning, according to the news release, the driver of the pickup truck fled at a high rate of speed.
Metro said officers did not pursue the truck. Through its investigation, Metro said detectives located a social media video that showed Sosa performing illegal driving maneuvers before officers arrived on April 25.
In the video, the pickup truck can be seen hitting a bystander in the intersection. Metro has asked anyone who might have information about the person who was hit, or the incident in general, to contact detectives at 702-828-5766.
Members of the public can also remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or online at www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
