I read your recent editorial “Democrats ignore context on Trump’s economic record” and had to respond.
Here’s what I’ve experienced since Donald Trump took office: Double weekly grocery prices, gas prices that continue to rise, housing costs out of reach for most Americans and a daily dread over what the day holds. While you reference inflation under President Joe Biden, you forget that he was dealing with the pandemic. Remember those pesky supply-and-demand issues?
Nothing this administration has done has helped middle-class families. There’s only tax breaks for the rich, while family members get richer selling drones for a war we shouldn’t be in that’s costing $1 billion a day. Tariffs and trade wars hurt us because we are the ones paying the higher costs — and anyone saying differently isn’t buying groceries, gasoline, clothing, etc.
