One person is dead following a crash Thursday between an SUV and an electric scooter near downtown Las Vegas, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The crash happened just before 2 p.m. in the 300 block of South 15th Street, near 15th and East Charleston Boulevard.
In a text message to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, a Metro spokesperson said the scooter rider was declared dead at the scene. The identities of those involved were not available as of Thursday afternoon.
The spokesman said Metro has asked the public to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
