The Metropolitan Police Department investigated an apparent murder-suicide late Monday night in the northeast Las Vegas Valley
According to police, at approximately 9:39 p.m., LVMPD dispatch received a report of a suicide attempt in the 3700 block of N. Nellis Boulevard.
Authorities said in a news release that arriving officers found a male and an elderly female suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside of a residence.
Medical personnel pronounced both individuals deceased at the scene, police said.
According to the release, the investigation indicated that the male shot the female and then himself.
The identification of both individuals, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
