The Athletics kicked off a six-game Las Vegas homestand this week and have a multitude of ways they are celebrating the team’s first regular season games hosted in Southern Nevada in over three decades.
The A’s will play the Milwaukee Brewers Monday-Wednesday and the Colorado Rockies Friday-Sunday at Las Vegas Ballpark in Summerlin.
Each game day the plaza outside of Las Vegas Ballpark will feature live entertainment, food trucks, photo opportunities and autograph signings by A’s alumni. All six games also feature different fan item giveaways, that are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
On Tuesday, the fan giveaway item of the game will be an A’s-branded flag. Tuesday’s game versus the Brewers is slated to start at 7:05 p.m.
On Wednesday, early arriving fans for the final game against the Brewers, scheduled to start at 6:05 p.m., will be able to nab an A’s sun hat as part of the game’s giveaway promotion.
After a break from the action on Thursday, the A’s return to play on Friday, to start a three-game series with the Rockies. The fan giveaway item of the game will be an A’s baseball cap. Friday’s game is planned to begin at 7:05 p.m.
On Saturday, the A’s will take over the popular Farmers Market at Downtown Summerlin, which will feature the same vendors that are there each week, in addition to baseball-themed giveaways, music, activities and appearances from A’s alumni. The farmer’s market runs between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Saturday’s game against the Rockies, which kicks off at 7:05 p.m., will feature a giveaway of a poster depicting the blueprint of the A’s Las Vegas ballpark, being built on the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue.
Lastly, on Sunday, the final game of the six game Las Vegas stint is scheduled to get underway at 12:05 p.m., with the temperature expected to top out at around 100 degrees. The fan giveaway of the game will be a limited edition bobblehead of A’s star first baseman Nick Kurtz.
After the game, fans 14 years old and younger will get the opportunity to run the bases. Fans interested in participating are asked to line up on the concourse above Sections 102 and 103, with the line planned to be closed 15 minutes after the game’s final out.
